Rate Change FAQ's

Q: When does the Carrier Rate Change take effect?
A: UPS and FedEx have announced a postage increase effective January 3rd, 2005. This means you will need to update your Neopost system by Midnight on January 3rd, 2005.

Q: I have a PC-based application (FriendShip/ASX), will both versions of the UPS PLD be supported?
A: No. Only UPS PLD0200 rates and services are supported with the rate change. Customers using UPS PLD5.5 are no longer supported as of December 31, 2004 and must upgrade.

Q: How can I tell what version of the UPS PLD I am using with FriendShip/ASX?
A: With PLD0200, UPS Quantum View is selected via the special service menu key "0" in the shipping screen for UPS. With PLD5.5, UPS Quantum View is NOT an available service in the special service menu for UPS.

Q: What rates are being changed?
A: Please see the carrier web site for information on the new rates.

UPS rate information can be found here.

FedEx rate information can be found here.

Q: What do I need to do?
A: If you have a Neopost RCP (Rate Change Protection) for your system, you will receive a notice from Neopost by December 18th, 2004. Mail or fax the letter back with the correct information and you will receive updated software a few days before the new rates take effect. If you do not wish to have the new UPS and FedEx rates don't mail or fax the letter.

If you DO NOT have RCP (Rate Change Protection), you will receive a notice from Neopost by December 18th, 2004 with instructions on how to order the new rates. After December 18th, if you do not have RCP and have not received a letter, please call our Rate Change Department at 800-934-2257.

Q: Do I really need to change the rates in my system?
A: YES, but only if you use UPS or FedEx. If you do not change the rates in your system, you will have INCORRECT rates for your parcels or mail after January 3rd, 2005.

Q: When will you ship me my new Rate Module?
A: Typically, Neopost will ship 5 days before a Rate Change. If you have not received your new Rate Module, Please contact us at: 800-934-2257.
