Position: Direct Marketing Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Marketing Operations
Department: Marketing
Location: Neopost, Inc. Corporate Headquarters

General Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Direct Marketing Manager are to define and implement customer acquisition and retention campaigns per market segment utilizing interactive marketing primarily direct mail and e-mail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop targeted lead generation campaigns per segment in line with the company's profitable growth objectives and in support of product marketing goals
  • Develop loyalty programs to decrease churn
  • Develop campaigns to increase sales opportunities within our customer base
  • Develop and implement methods to measure effectiveness and efficiency of marketing programs, objectives and testing strategies
  • Monitor marketing program ROI and make enhancements to continuously improve program effectiveness and profitability over time
  • Prepare and obtain approval for annual direct marketing plans
  • Work with external vendors
  • Management of customer database expert

Job Qualifications:

  • Direct marketing skills: Ability to create comprehensive marketing plans in support of company strategy
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven success and experience in directing outside vendors such as ad agencies and email deployment vendors
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Program execution skills
  • Management skills: Ability to manage, direct and develop direct report
  • Proven success at customer database management and analysis: Ability to use database to develop budget and response forecasts, to identify and size targetable sub-segments within the customer database and to develop targeted program and test plans based on business analysis and data mining.
  • Siebel CRM knowledge is a strong plus
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Staff Management
  • Strong quantitative analytical and business skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years in direct response marketing (direct mail and e-mail)
  • Minimum of 3 years in customer acquisition marketing experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in existing customer retention programs
  • Mailing, office equipment, IT or Telecom industry experience preferred

  • Ability to be innovative
  • Must be able to drive projects from conception to implementation
