The benefits of the SM94 became evident immediately for Milam. For one, the new machine proved to be much more versatile than her previous unit. Milam especially likes the efficiency of refilling the postage meter electronically by phone, part of Neopost's Postage-On-Call® service, instead of having to go down to the post office.

"The SM94," Milam says, "is the most accurate mail machine the department has ever used." And Holzmer, who operates the SM94, agrees. "Now I can put a large stack of envelopes in the machine," he says, "and it doesn't miss a single one." Milam estimates that the SM94 has reduced mail processing time by at least 30 percent, with overall daily output of the Duncan mailroom increasing by at least 15 percent.

Another benefit of going with Neopost, Milam added, is the availability of their rate-change protection program. For an annual fee, Neopost automatically sends new software with rate updates whenever the U.S. Postal Service changes its pricing. And perhaps most importantly, the SM94 met Milam's requirements for ease of use.
